Step 1
Surface Clean
Before cleaning, your ALU1 operator will tie back any plants. To reduce your initial quote costs, please consider a good trim of the plants around the windows. They will use a biodegradable cleaning solution designed to remove dirt and debris without scratching the surface. In addition, your ALU1 operator will clean the windows before taping the glass edges for protection from the joinery coating.
Steps 2-4
Surface Preparation
Your ALU1 operator will apply a solution designed to clean back the oxidisation and mineral deposits from the surface. This process scuffs the surface and opens up the powder coating for a deep clean. Then readies the powder coating for keying in the ALU1 restoration and protective coating.
Following the joinery clean back, your ALU1 operator will apply tape over the glass toward the edges of the joinery, protecting the glass from the joinery coating. Application over the rubber seals is both safe and beneficial.
Step 5
Application
The ALU1 window frame and joinery restoration protection product is hand applied and levelled onto the surface. As the product settles and dries, the level of gloss will increase slightly. Once fully cured, the coating forms a high level of self-cleaning and resilience to environmental damage, significantly extending the life of the powder coating.
